Well, after all the interesting impasses, we really enjoyed our last trip here... and so far this trip is turning out to be fun, too!!! We had dinner and drinks in the hotel last night w/ our travel friends..
This am we awoke to a gorgeous day so, we headed out for some fun... Wandering for over 3 hours on a loop we made up as we went -- past red square, past some very interesting handicap accessible ramps -- zoom!, thru the Chocolate Factory (didn't see any Russian oompa loompas, in case you were wondering), down past Gorky Park (as I recall my dad's favorite book?), up Smolenksa (a road race happening -- NIKE and Ascis really need to do some marketing here -- these people are going to need serious PT running in those shoes that they had on!!) A really fun morning hanging out together, and clearly we can't wait to take little man to the Gorky Park area and enjoy some woods and sunshine together!
A big YAHOO to Laura and Brian for getting their referrals!! We'll be crossing our fingers for those coming behind us to Kirov... and CONGRATS to Kendra and Dave who were not on the flight quarantined from Tokyo to Beijing, and are now happily in China with their daughter!!

so, anyone else surprised by our plane surprise?? of course, none of us were prepared -- down to having wine bottles we needed to get rid of, gifts that were likely to break (our dewars gift bottle leaked -- thank god we put it in a plastic bag in the airport as we "re-packed' to check luggage! always an adventure!
