He was my co-conspirator in the "Elf'ing" games we started in our "new 'hood"... We have been in our new neighborhood about half the year, and have some really terrific neighbors and growing friendships with kids LM's age and their parents... We feel lucky to have found such a great place, and at Halloween, we were "Boo'd" so I thought "let's look up and see if there is an "Elf" game" and sure enough there was! LM was totally into it! :)
....My Little Elf, All Smiles, "Stamping" The Elf Hats...
No, there was no need at all to stamp. But our LM found a "stamp" and stamp every single one he did. Many way more than once. I was rolling laughing, as it rung to me that even the most unexpected things (like a need to have a stamp on anything that could be stampable) is genetic..
Now, for those of you who have never adopted from Russia, you may never get this. But, between all the notaries and apostilles on our end, the the incredible amount of "stamping" we've done here on the Russia end for both of our children -- well, needless to say this "stamping fiend" had me rolling on the ground....I would guess some of you reading this might also get a good laugh..
We went to one of our favorite haunts on our way to visit Papa at the hospital when he had a 3 day long work "spree" -- Smith Playhouse. We love this place. On this particular day, the craft was a "make your own" gingerbread house... And LM had at it... it was yummy and fun for both of us!
...Proud Little Architect...
We also headed into the city again this year, by train, cuz what almost 4 year old kid doesn't like to ride the train? He was so excited this year we left from "Miss Maura's" train stop (a great gal I work with whom we drop off at the train sometimes after our Saturday family events!)... And truly i think had we done nothing other than ride the train to and from the city, he would have been happy...
...My men on the ride... What isn't there to smile about?...
We then headed off to find a smoothie.... LM found a place and said something to the effect of a very polite "May I have a strawberry smoothie please?"... And truly, while the frozen fruit did not melt, apparently the heart of the owner did.... LM was soo polite, he deserved to go all the way behind the counter and help pick out and MAKE his own smoothie!!
..."Gee, Papa, it sure pays to say Please"...
... Love is In the Air...
We also decided that the end of the month may get a little hectic... Not sure why except maybe for the small bundle of moving package delivery arriving before the holidays!! We also thought it would be fun for LM to have "our tree" up and enjoy it and gets ready for his sister...
....Picking out the tree...
Easiest decision ever. When there are 100 some trees, how do you pick? Hold 2 up and say "LM, which one?"... why look at all other 98 of them?
...LM loading up the tree with ornaments...
...You can guess how that went...
First 2 guesses do not count.
...You can guess how that went...
First 2 guesses do not count.
....Yup...
But you know what?? I left them like that -- because the simplicity and good hearted thinking of our almost 4 year old will give me a huge smile every time I walk past the tree now...We were so lucky -- Aunt Joan had to be in town for one of her doctoral classes, so we got to hang out... and ran to the river house for a quick photo shoot... :)
....It's 5 O'Clock Somewhere... Love love love AJ!!...
..Take Two...

Merry Pre-Christmas!
