Slacker Mom.... Week 6 late entry!

LM getting cuter by the day....

"The Boys" Entertaining Each Other while Mama does something... but apparently it was NOT blogging...

Slacker? That may be one word for it. I'd prefer to be "mom-upationally occupied" (a new occupational word shift).
So, I have even more respect for all of you who have been moms forever, and who have bunches of kidlets that you juggle with amazing ease and smiles!!
Don't even ask me where the last 2 weeks went. If I knew, I would have found a moment to blog. Chalk it up to life and adventurous times with a very active 18 month old, who went thru some very typical 18 month old behaviors shifts with the added fun of testing limits in an "attachment testing" sort of way.... he was very clingy to me and yet, at the same time, didn't seem to know what he wanted and got frustrated with me... he's a strong kid so it got interesting at times and i think my shirt sleeves are even a little tighter as a result of extra muscle bulk.... ha ha ha.. seriously, tho, I felt bad for him for the little guy and, like sleeping (or not sleeping as it was) and eating (or not wanting new foods as it was) that "this too, shall pass".... it was funny on several occasions he'd literally go thru his litany of signs, just trying to tell me something.... but most times wasn't happy with my guessing at his pantomimes and signs.... we did all we could and kept telling him he was OK, and that we were here always for him.... anyway, it was a rapid moving time on the clock, and also a couple of busy work weeks for his mom during his naps and evenings after bedtimes...
The good news is, we are all great, and overall, our LM is just great. And we have been having a lot of fun!! Check it out for yourself.... :

First bout of fun -- we got a baby pool for our oldest baby... he loved it!!

Yup, Ashton loves his new pool....

And, he was kind enough to share it with the new baby in the house....

Truly, Can't get enough of it...

How cute is he? (Ok, we are a bit biased! but you have to admit.. he he he...)

Quick fun things from this week:

• Visited with Grandparents Nesbitt and Aunt Linda at their pad (blah! mama ran out of the house for this fun playdate without a camera!!) -- loved playing ball and chasing around Pumpkin, the orange kitty!
• Baby pool -- had to hide it after a few days in a row of fun-- every time we went into the back yard, he thought it should be filled up and played in -- not always feasible, so off it went to the "mysterious" side of the house...
• Better going down for naps and bedtime! YAHOO!!! naps about 10 minutes and down for the sugar plums... Bedtime down to about 30 minutes, but no crying -- reading books, shut off light, and flop around, chattering to self
  
• Stuffed animal fun... began to hug and chat with stuffed animals in the car-- Lion in Mama's car and a Monkey in Papa's car. Super cute!!!
• Making LOTS of noise, but only in the house -- and only when no one is around. We are not making this up. He really does talk endlessly until someone else shows up or we go out.
• Cars are suddenly very cool to push around -- and, did you know they have a front and a back? LM learned that somehow (we didn't teach him, he just figured it out!) and is always quick to turn the cars in the "right" direction before pushing them all over the place...
  
• Favorite toy #1 -- the Box with the cool handle (easy side carrier box)
• Favorite toy #2 -- the OTHER cool box with the cool handle (the grocery cart seat cover) -- poll do you use one??

Home 5 Years, and WHAT are they doing to me now on these chairs?

OK, well, we can't have it ALL be about our incredible LM, can we?? This week marks the week, 5 years ago, that our first pre-named child, Ashton, came to live with us... yes, for all you who keep teasing that we named our children "A" names -- remember, we didn't. Our children came with their identities. Ashton arrived from Canine Partners for Life, a fantastic service dog organization, as a puppy, in early July, 2004....We raised him for his puppy year, sent him back for training, and he decided he was not fit to be a service dog, nor a police dog. Goldie Locks puppy, Ashton, found that things were "just right" for him down by the river. Jeff, in his great humor, came up with this little treat of a photo.... Funnier still was LM's reaction, like "hey, that is MY chair, what are you doing up there?".....So, not to be outdone by his furry older sib.... :
