This was the week of carnivals around here... I am not sure if this is an E. Coast thing only or not, but around here, pretty much any weekend, if you barely look, you can find a carnival.. we had a few just right around our house, and decided to live it up "carny" style :)
The first carnival he went to he'd been watching "go up" for a week -- it is right around the corner from our house.. and for years we say "we should really go"... well, this year, we clearly had a reason! We had a lot of fun and we were all so happy that Aunt Linda (AL)joined us! LM loves his AL, it was really cute how he was flirting and teasing with her the whole afternoon and evening!! :)
He played 2 games. Yup. Two. And you can guess how many he won. :)
...SLLLLLLLIIIIIIIIIIIIDDDDDDDDDDIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNGGGGGG....
The 2nd game LM played was on our way out -- he saw these cool little bowls and, of course, it was really the BALLS that appealed to him the most... Jeff was like "Aw, man, not that".. but too late.. I had already handed the $$ to the dude behind the counter, and LM had an orange ball in his hand. I kid you not. His. First. Shot. Here was the result:
Not sure who was more surprised? Us, LM, or the poor fish in a bag... We gave her a good life for her time with us... :)
We also go to go to the local horse show fair -- and met up with one of his best little buddies -- his lil' pal (LP) came home from Kazakhstan within weeks of LM, and I feel fortunate to be friends w/ her mom -- LM and LP are hilarious together when we get them on a playdate....
i love how they grab life (and apparently not the handlebars) and run with it -- i hope they never lose that to the constraints and social pressures of the world...
LM and his LP had their first sno cones together... and thus had blue tongues.. which they thought was just hilarious to show one another...
And somehow, at the end of the date, LM managed to GET a flower from his LP... :) She is a real sweet little gal & he knows he's a lucky boy to know her :)
In honor of our "boys" and their great effort ---
we are raising our LM to appreciate and respect hard efforts, even if it doesn't bring home the cup, we are still proud!
It is so funny b/c LM chants "Let's go fyer cha ha"
(trying to make the ch ch sound after the citywide chant!)...
and we are so happy you've been here with us 1 full year.
...Seems to us like you've always been with us...
...and we are so very blessed with you...

Wow --- LM justs radiates happiness to the core! Looks like neither one of us wants to cut our little one's hair, eh? Now if only LM could share some curls, Kristina would be in heaven.
Too bad Kristina is geographically undesirable...otherwise, she'd give LP a run for her money!
Hugs to you all,
Laura :)
Precious! The photos speak for themselves. It is wonderful to see the joy on their faces.
What???!!!! Another girl is moving in on my future son-in-law?? Unbelievable. What fun adventures you guys are having. Are you surviving your heat wave? We've been unseasonably FREEZING. Not ok. I love LM's curly locks--keep them as long as possible so he doesn't lose his Samson-like powers. :)
Oh my gosh...LM and LP are so DARNED cute together!!!!!!!!
I love the frog/mole/gopher/whatever whacking game too!!!!
Looks like you are having a FUN summer!! Hard to believe that last summer you were just getting to know each other! Continue to have fun and keep posting these wonderful updates!
