August - Another Flash!!

Is anyone else confused, wondering "Where did summer go?" We had a blast this summer, and the fun kept going into August.... We started the month up where I teach with Aunt Joan (and apparently left the camera at home that trip!)... LM enjoyed the pool/spa and hotel ammenities w/ my sweet hubby who is kind enough to bring him up every time I teach, while we taught.. Evenings were dinners out or take in, and lots of fun and smiles!! Here are some shots from the rest of the month and all our activities!
...Growing Up... First Shower...
Can hardly believe it. I remember when this little boy screamed his head off over baths... And now, showers are his gig.... he loves it and it's so fun to watch him in there!!

In August, we also amazingly had one of our only "just the 3 of us" weekends. On this particular weekend we took advantage and did a day trip to the beach... with both the kids...

...Both of our kids are quite happy with our outing!!...
... Tug of War with some sort of dog toy that was a fish that breaks apart...
...Sand Castle Road of Dreams...
...Dinner in OC at an Outdoor Cafe!...
Ashton is there with us too! :)

My dad came to visit, which always means we are lucky to see more of our family, we well!

...Cousin Josh & LM...
Cousin Josh is a huge amazingly talented kid, and i pray LM has even 1/3 the musical talent of Josh!!
...Happy to be...
...Hangin w/ UT....

We did ALL sorts of things with Granddad Pete...

....Bowling....

...LM loves to listen to GDP read to him...
... Playing with Airplanes with GD Pete!!!...

We wrapped up our summer with a great big and....
FIRST EVER CAMPING TRIP!!! (crowd roars!)

Elk Neck State Park, MD. One of our fav places to go -- between location/distance from us, plus a few beaches and a friendly family hike option, it is great... LM had an awesome time! Between climbing in and out of the tent a million times, digging every where he could, running around looking at all the bugs, poking at the fire, roasting marshmallows (didn't like them!), and just being outside and tearing around for all that time -- there was not a part of it he didn't like... Every moment warmed my heart -- I just LOVE seeing him so happy, exploring, playful...

We went to NORTHBAY again in august for our anniversary -- it is a home away from home for us...we got married there 4 years ago and have gone back every year since to celebrate!!! It is a fantastic place - tons to do, and for us, it is a very quiet, family retreat place.... we hung out, went for walks on the beach, the boys did a bunch of metal detecting while i enjoyed the greatest of joys of watching my boys get silly together, played games and puzzles inside while it rained (we didn't care, it was just so great to be there!) and enjoyed dinners and sunsets on the deck every.single.night... it was nice of the rain to behave and allow us sunsets :)

just lovely....
gives us also a "comparison" across the years...

Little man is just growing up in front of us - truly incredible. And the photos at Northbay really put LM's growth into perspective! Like you, I love the "then and now" pics. :)

I know how hard it is to find a moment to update the blog...but your entries are so worth the wait!

Hugs to you all,

Wow, since we see him so often, it is hard to see how much he has grown. The NorthBay pix really DO show how much he's grown!

He is really funny and fun and we did enjoy his stay with us a few weeks back. Funny, to hear at 6:30in the morning, "Gamma, I awake" and then have him tell me his dreams.

Is this the child we worried had a speech problem? Some of the things that he says and the stories he tells, we would expect to hear from a much older child. So smart (and occasionally smart-mouth)and amazing how he connects the dots from one situation to another.

We KNOW how busy your lives are so it is nice that you keep up the blog. We enjoy it, too!
